London’s Women’s March was awash with British humour

LONDON A colossal 100,000 people turned out for the Women’s March on London to protest Donald Trump’s first full day in office.

People brandished creative homemade signs and banners as they marched from the U.S. Embassy in Grosvenor Square to Trafalgar Square.

As to be expected, many of them were infused with typically British wit and humour. And, they were absolutely brilliant.

It just wouldn’t be a protest in London without a sign calling Trump a “bellend“.

It was absolutely essential to point out that the word “trump” actually means “fart” here in the UK.

Brits aren’t all that great at expressing their anger. But they are excellent at crafting passive aggressive and wonderfully wordy signs. “Generally displeased” might be a bit of an understatement, though.

Several people were “really quite cross”.

And others were “quite annoyed” and “very upset”.

One protestor had some harsh words on Trump’s attitude towards women.

Some decided to abandon British politeness completely.

Honestly, indeed.

Nice work, London.
