Legendary rock star Gene Simmons calls out America’s religious hypocrisyand it is SPOT on.
Amidst all the recent flackTim Tebow has received over the Miss Universe break-upthat stemmed from his Christian values, there’s no time like the present to bring up Gene Simmon’s powerful perspective defending the extraverted believer.
The former KISS star sheds asobering lighton just how dual-sided our country seems to be when it comes to ridiculing religion:
“Here’s a man who believes in God and people pick on him,” says Simmons. “If he was a Jew, or a Muslim and you did thatpeople would never dare. But for some reason if he’s a Christian, you’re allowed to pick on him.”
“It’s the height of lunacy, and those journalists should be held accountable,” hecontinued. “They’re never gonna pick on a guy who tortures dogs or has perhaps gone to jail for murder, but if he believes in Christ his Lord, then it’s open season. It’s like what country are we living in?”
Indeed, Simmons. What country is this “land of the free” where the faith claimed by three-quarters of its population is openly mocked?
Now, Christian Americathat isa question worth answering.
